The benefits of RESET and Sleep

Sleeping ManGood quality sleep is an integral foundation of good health. We understand that leading an ‘always on’ lifestyle can make it hard to settle down for a good night’s sleep. Disturbed and lack of deep sleep can leave you feeling fried and fatigued throughout the week, so quality is just as important as quantity.

We developed Reset to help get you in the frame of mind for some renewing, revitalising, deep sleep. This nighttime nootropic is ideal for any high performing individual who needs to recover adequately before being in tip-top shape for a mentally or physically demanding day ahead.

Why is deep sleep important?

We’ve all had those mornings where you wake up and you just know that you’ve had a deep sleep; you feel full of energy, deeply renewed and your mind is clear and ready for the day.

That’s because these deep phases are where your cells regenerate and there is an increased supply of blood to the muscles.

This is why athletes prioritise healthy sleep routines; it helps their muscles recover, grow, plus boosts overall health and wellbeing.

Deep sleep is when the pituitary gland secretes hormones, including human growth hormone.

Key benefits include:

  • Cell regeneration
  • Increased blood supply to muscles
  • Energy restoration
  • Growth and repair of bones and tissues
  • Strengthens immunity

How does sleep affect athletic performance?

Athletes are well aware of how much sleeping can affect their performance and physical health. Lebron James says he sleeps at least 8 to 10 hours a night; he prioritises rest because he knows that his body needs to recover.

Sleeping is the time in which your heart rests and your cells and tissues repair and regenerate. This is important after you’ve physically exerted yourself. In order to keep up a tough training schedule and keep performing at your best,  the rest of your muscles and tissues is highly important. Muscle growth happens when you’re at rest, so giving your body the best chance of recovery is giving yourself the best chance of success.

Additionally, while you sleep your body produces cytokines, which are hormones that help your immune system fight off infection. This can help prevent illness, which can deplete your resources and interrupt your training schedule.

How does sleep affect your mental health

There’s an intimate relationship between sleep and mental health. Not sleeping enough reduces the ability to think clearly and make decisions and equally, those who are sleep deprived are more likely to make poor decisions or take risks. Further, lack of sleep may make you more inclined to suffer from depression and anxiety.

Additionally, research suggests that lack of sleep may have a direct effect on athletic performance, causing athletes to get exhausted more quickly.

Reset and Sleep

Reset contains ingredients to help you enjoy deeper, more enriching sleep.

Magnesium helps convert proteins in your body into chemicals that help you feel sleepy. Additionally, it plays a role in helping relaxation and calming the nervous system, all of which help you settle down more effectively and ensure your body and mind are in the right place to have a quality night’s sleep.

Reset contains l tryptophan, which your body converts into a chemical called serotonin; Serotonin is the chemical that regulates mood and sleep. L tryptophan is often used for people who have insomnia, or even mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety.

Additionally, our Reset supplement contains 5-HTP which studies show may help with the production of melatonin, a chemical that your brain produces at night time that helps control your sleep cycle. 5-HTP is often used to help with short term sleeping issues, whether you’ve been particularly stressed at work, you’re jet-lagged or on shift work, it’ll help you ease into a sleep ready state.
