While we always encourage a healthy, balanced diet to get your required nutrients.  Multivitamins can be a great way to ensure you enrich your body with vitamins and minerals while on-the-go. You should never use any type of supplement as a replacement for a healthy diet, but lots of people find it difficult to eat a healthy balanced diet every day. 

Research found that nearly 50% of adults in the UK ate less than three portions of fruits and veg per day. If we don’t get an adequate amount of nutrients, this can lead to a wide range of health issues. Taking multivitamins can help ensure you boost your intake of required nutrients, no matter how busy your day might be. 

WHO SHOULD TAKE MULTIVITAMIN?

It’s important for everybody to get the required amount of vitamins daily, but certain populations who might benefit from regular supplementation, including:

  • Older people – as we age, it can become harder for us to absorb certain nutrients, including vitamin B12. 
  • People with allergies and intolerances – this can be difficult as you may have to avoid a certain selection of foods that provide nutrients. 
  • Vegetarians and vegans – these types of diets may restrict the intake of certain nutrients that are found in animal products.
  • Children between six months to five years old – it is recommended that children of this age take regular supplementation of vitamins such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin D.
  • Athletes – vitamin and mineral deficiencies can lead to decline in performance and can impact energy production, recovery and overall health.

We recommended that you take your Multivitamin supplement once a day and in the morning. Taking them in the evening may even stimulate your brain and lift your energy levels, making it harder to fall asleep.
