Asha Philip

Olympic Sprinter and 10 x British Champion

There are not many athletes with the personality, passion & resilience of Asha Philip. Today, she is one of the UK’s fastest ever sprinters – but her story didn’t begin with the track alone. With natural sporting talent, Asha was in a unique position representing Great Britain in both Athletics & Gymnastics. In 2007 she won 100m Gold at the World Youth Championships, but it was the other sport which would change her path – after a freak trampoline landing, Asha had a horrific injury to her cruciate ligament putting her sporting career in major doubt. But this was not going to dampen her resilience, and with over three years of recovery, she returned to the top of her game, however, this time only Athletics would take her focus.

Asha has since become a household name in the sport and has gone on to win medals at every level possible, including the Rio 2016 Olympics. More so, her vibrant & bubbly personality has made a similar impact and she is naturally a people’s favourite across the board.

Known for her explosive starts, it’s no surprise she is the current 60m British Record Holder and a 10 x British Champion across both the 60m & 100m. With Tokyo 2020 in view, Asha’s story is yet to finish, and achieving more global success to inspire a new generation is her number one drive.
